OUR LAB

Missouri Fertility is home to three laboratories consisting of the endocrine, andrology, and IVF labs. This allows faster results on the important tests used to determine our course of treatment. Each laboratory is accredited by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA) and the College of American Pathologists (CAP).

CLIA sets standards designed to improve quality in all laboratory testing and includes specifications for quality control, quality assurance, patient test management, and personnel and proficiency testing. CLIA regulations set minimum standards for laboratory practice and quality. When a laboratory satisfies CLIA regulatory requirements, you can have greater confidence in the quality and reliability of laboratory results.

When an institution chooses to be CAP-accredited, you can be assured that its laboratory will not only meet federal regulations, but will exceed them. Participation in the CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program demonstrates to patients, clinicians, and insurance companies a continuum of high-quality testing in the clinical laboratory. No other accrediting agency inspects infertility labs as a sub-specialty. The embryology laboratory is the most complex ancillary service. CAP inspections are performed in this complex environment by experienced, knowledgeable professionals who are in tune with emerging technologies, new procedures, and patient issues. Our facility is CAP accredited and has continuously maintained accreditation since 2007, the date of our first application.

IVF Lab
The IVF lab is where the egg will be fertilized with sperm, and your embryos will be nurtured until they are ready to be transferred back into your uterus for implantation and pregnancy.

Endocrine Lab
Too much, or not enough, of important chemicals called hormones can be evaluated with a series of blood tests. Our endocrine laboratory uses an analyzer to get accurate results on various types of endocrine tests.

Andrology Lab
The Andrology lab performs semen analysis, preparation of sperm for insemination, and cryopreservation of semen samples. We have a flexible schedule to fit the needs of our patients. Most collections can be done in the office or at an alternate location within 30 minutes of our facility.
